I have been fishing the Texas coast for almost 20 years. First as a kid, then as a young adult and now as a full-time guide. The Stake-out Stik has become an invaluable part of my daily operations. The ability to arrest a drift and maintain a broad profile to the area I am working has produced greater numbers of fish from feeding schools. I can say that LB Outfitters has created a product worthy of every penny. This Stik will hold in any wind, never breaks down, and will not break the bank. Add one to your set-up today.

After a brief season on the tournament tour this summer, I'd like to offer my take on the Stake-out Stiks, Kayak Stiks. It seems that everywhere I fish, there is more mud than water. It was a rare day that the Stik didn't sink at least 3 feet into the slime. I paddled Native Manta 14 and with all my gear and my tournament live well, the Stik held well in all conditions. I use an anchor trolley setup that allows me to anchor the kayak off the bow or stern and anywhere between the two. I'd put the Stake-out Stik through the tie-off ring and run it to the bow most of the time because I prefer to fish into the wind for a more natural presentation. Even in the heaviest chop the Stik never acted like it wanted to pull out. I'm looking forward to more great products from L and L Manufacturing in the future.

After 37 years of guiding, I am into any piece of equipment that works every time out and is maintenance free. With the Stake-out Stik I can anchor my boat instantly and quietly on shallow water flats and know that it will hold in the toughest of winds. I would not fish the marsh and backwater ponds without one in my boat!

The Stake-out Stik is a product I do not leave the dock without. After spending countless hours over the past 30 years in the local marshes and bayous I can tell you it has made a solid impact on how I set up to fish in many different situations. As a matter of fact I carry two Stiks all the time. I can anchor as deep as 12 feet with enough rope and in 30 knot winds if need be. The Stake-out Stik was put to the test by me and my partner Dickie Colburn during the Port Arthur Redfish Cup.

Recently I bought a Stake-out Stik for my 18' Laguna Tiger flats boat. I have had other poles, you know, the hydraulic one. It's a good products but adds 40 pounds to the transom of the boat and when I am fishing in less than 12 inches of water I can't afford the weight. The Stake-out Stik works just as well with out the weight. I added a piece of tubing to the transom of my boat and just stick the Stake-out Stik down through the tubing and into the bottom, immediate anchor no problem. I would recommend the Stake-out Stik to anyone who wants to anchor their boat easily and quickly in shallow water.

I fish five lakes Cedar Creek, Richland Chambers, Limestone, Trading House, and Fairfield. I mainly fish shallow water from a 18x70 Xpress aluminum boat and anchor a lot against the bank. The Stake-out Stik had made my fishing easier and quicker than using my existing anchor. I don't ever plan to be with out one and think it's the best investments I ever made. What a deal on a great product.

I fish out of a Scout 177 Sportfish mostly in Galveston West Bay. I have been using the 8' Stake-out Stik for a couple months, and it hold my boat extremely well. I have not had to use my existing anchor since purchasing the Stik, which saves a lot of clean up. You can even throw the Stik in water deeper than 8' and it will usually hold as well.
- Pat Warren, Galveston Texas
As a professional guide, the Stake-out Stik is an invaluable tool that I use while drifting the flats and back lakes of the Matagorda Bay System. The Stake-out Stik is the first thing in my hands when I quietly need to stop my drift to hold on a school of fish. No matter how windy it is, the Stake-out Stik will hold my Southshore 26 Pro even tied off in 20 mph winds. That is right, a 26 foot boat with a wet weight of 4,500 pounds. The Stake-out Stik is up to the task.

We have been surprised on many occasions at the Stake-out Stik's ability to hold our little 17' Shoalwater in 25 mph winds. We are proud to offer the Stake-out Stiks on our website, www.hooksetgear.com and receive positive feedback on a regular basis from our customers.
